No two safaris are the same. Neither are the people who take them.

The difference between a good safari and a great one is in the detail. The right camp, the right vehicle, knowing what to pack and what to leave behind - these things matter more than people realise. This is where I share everything I've learned so you arrive prepared and ready to enjoy every moment.

Getting Around

Transfers

In Africa, the journey is never just a means to an end – it is part of the adventure itself. A road transfer through the bush brings you closest to the land, windows down, dust rising, with the chance of wildlife around every bend. For the greater distances, nothing beats hopping between destinations in a light aircraft, where the sheer scale of the wilderness unfolds beneath you in a way that never fails to take your breath away. And for those truly special moments, a helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta, a dramatic escarpment or a winding river valley elevates the whole experience into something extraordinary. However you travel, in Africa the miles are always worth savouring.

Packing Tips

Packing List

Packing for Africa requires a little more thought than most holidays. Days in the bush can be gloriously warm, but early morning game drives and cool evenings around the camp fire demand a layer or two, so a versatile wardrobe that works across a range of temperatures is essential. Most safari camps are accessed by small charter aircraft with a strict luggage allowance of 15kg, so a soft-sided bag or duffel is strongly recommended – hard shell suitcases are not permitted on light aircraft and will need to be left behind. Pack smart, pack light and leave a little room for the memories you will inevitably bring home.
